Committing to Psychotherapy and Counseling services is a powerful way to improve your mental health. Whether you’re struggling with couples or marriage issues, or seeking help for anxiety, managing ADHD, therapy helps strengthen family relationships and supports healthier communication.
Hello! My name is Shiwan Ibrahim, and I am a registered psychotherapist (RP) with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). My journey as a therapist began with a profound commitment to helping those in need, particularly immigrants and refugees. This early experience enriched my trauma-informed approach and ignited my passion for supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
In every aspect of my work, I strive to create a warm, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients feel truly heard and understood. I believe that healing starts with a compassionate and respectful therapeutic relationship. By allowing clients to guide our sessions, I ensure that their unique experiences and perspectives shape our collaborative efforts toward achieving their goals.
Registered Psychotherapist
My therapeutic approach is rooted in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), trauma-informed care, grief-informed therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Gottman-informed therapy. Each method is tailored to meet the specific needs of my clients, ensuring a personalized and holistic experience.
Beyond individual therapy, I am dedicated to supporting clients in various areas:
Family Therapy:
I work with families to foster better communication, resolve conflicts, and build stronger, more supportive relationships. My goal is to create a harmonious and loving family environment where everyone feels valued.
Marriage and Couples Counselling:
Using Gottman-informed techniques and other effective approaches, I help couples navigate challenges, enhance their emotional connection, and strengthen their partnership. I am here to support you in building a lasting and fulfilling relationship.
Child and Adolescent Therapy:
I provide a safe, nurturing, and playful environment for children and adolescents to express their feelings and work through their challenges. My approach is sensitive to their developmental needs and aims to empower them with the tools they need to thrive.
Men’s Mental Health:
I am particularly passionate about addressing the unique mental health needs of men. Whether dealing with stress, anxiety, depression, or difficulties in emotional expression, I offer a supportive space where men can explore and address their concerns without stigma.
Trauma and Grief Counselling:
With a deep understanding of trauma and grief, I help clients process their experiences and emotions. My approach is gentle, empathetic, and focused on helping individuals find healing and resilience.
It is my heartfelt passion to walk alongside my clients on their therapeutic journeys. I am committed to helping you navigate life’s challenges, achieve personal growth, and find a sense of peace and well-being. Together, we will work towards your goals in a supportive and empowering environment.
I am dedicated to continuous learning and professional development to provide you with the highest quality of care.
